- How long will it take to activate my household user ID account? After you fill out your On-line Activation Form and provide proof of residency, it only takes a few minutes to set-up your account in the computer by the registration staff. You will be provided with your household user ID and a temporary password. (You will have the option to change your password.) When you get home, log onto www.rlapd.org and you are ready to go. Take a moment to read the on-line registration helpdesk to get acquainted with the registration process.
- Who can register on-line? Any individual or family may register for park district programs on-line once they have established their household user ID account; you must establish proof of residency to activate your on-line account. Note: Non-Residents are eligible to register online but at a later date and must also come in person to have their on-line account activated.
- Which programs are eligible for on-line registration? Any program with the computer mouse icon in the brochure is available for on-line registration.
Please Note: A user fee will be assessed per class when registering on-line. A user fee is a convenience fee for registering on-line.
Once residency has been established, it will be checked on an annual basis, normally with the camp brochure. At this time, you may be required to show proof of residency.
- All programs require a minimum number of participants 5 business days before the class begins. A maximum number is also listed to ensure quality instruction. Classes may be combined and times modified to facilitate better programs.

Residents vs. Non-Residents
It's sometimes difficult to figure out if you're considered a park district resident or non-resident. Generally speaking, if your house address has four digits and you live within the incorporated village boundaries of Round Lake, Round Lake Beach, Round Lake Park and Round Lake Heights, you are a resident of the Round Lake Area Park District. If you live in Hainesville west of Hainesville Road, you are also a Round Lake Area Park District resident.
There are also portions of unincorporated areas of Round Lake that are within the park district and boundaries. An example of this is the Prairie Pointe subdivision in Round Lake. This entire subdivision, although almost totally surrounded by the park district residents, is not in the park district. Conversely, some persons who live on Nippersink Road in unincorporated Round Lake are park district residents.
If you are unsure if you are a district resident check your voter's registration card which identifies all the taxing districts you live in, or check the Lake County's web site, co.lake.il.us/mapsonline. This site will allow you to see, by your home address, what taxing districts you live in. Or, if all else fails, call us!
