Whether you're interested in music, theatre or voice, the Round Lake Area Park District is the perfect place for creative expression. Our Performing Arts programs are dedicated to providing a positive experience that welcomes individuals of all ages.

Private and group lessons are the most effective way to enhance your musical ability. All lessons are taught at the Robert W. Rolek Community Center, 814 Hart Road in Round Lake. We offer private lessons in guitar, piano and voice; plus, one group session in guitar. All private lesson times are arranged through the instructor. As a result, these classes are not available for online registration. Please call 847-546-8558 for fees and availability.
The Round Lake Area Community Band has been performing for more than 40 years, and plays at various venues/locations throughout the area. Membership is available to high school age musicians or older including those who want to restart their playing. Come join this group and enjoy its welcoming and relaxed atmosphere and many performance opportunities. All instruments are welcome but we especially need percussionists and low brass instruments such as trombone, baritone, euphonium, french horn and tuba.
No auditions necessary! Rehearsals: Tuesday Nights 7:00-9:00 p.m. Located at Indian Hill School on Lotus Drive in Round Lake Heights. To join, stop by any rehearsal or call Christi Nicholson at (847) 546-8558 ext. 231, or Bill Zeigler at 847-265-8215
for more information.

From children to adults, there are many theatre opportunities to watch and participate at our park district.
The Studio 13! Theatre Club (for ages 5-14) and Rising Stars Children's Theatre Club (for ages 4 -7) serve as a training ground for Round Lake area youth. During the summer, our Encore Youth Theatre Camps guide children through fully staged musical performances complete with vocal coaching, improv games and more. Best of all, no experience or auditions are required!
The Round Lake Area Community Theatre (for ages 8 - adult) was created in the summer of 2000 to provide residents of Round Lake and its surrounding communities the opportunity to participate in theatrical productions in a positive environment that welcomes individuals of all ages and skill levels.
The Neighborhood Players (for ages 14 - adult) are a select group of theatre artists dedicated to performing for children and their families. This unique traveling group performs at various locations throughout the year, in addition to performances right here at the Robert W. Rolek Community Center.
Auditions: The Round Lake Park District Community Theatre is proud of its open audition policy that welcomes both the theatre veteran as well as the novice.
