Round Lake Area Park District Park District Adopts Master Plan
The Round Lake Area Park District Board of Commissioners officially adopted the district’s new Master Plan at its October 9 Regular Board Meeting. The plan will serve as a valuable guide for the district to help identify and prioritize desired levels of service, land acquisition and development and capital projects and purchases.

In its last Master Plan, adopted in 2003, the district identified such projects as the Sports Center, the Community Center expansion, the Teen Center renovation and the Ropes Course as projects that were successfully completed. The Executive Director Jeff Nehila notes, “The 2008 Plan is an extension of the 2003 Plan in regards to completing previously identified projects and acquisitions as well as adding a whole new list of initiatives for the park district to pursue.” Nehila also expressed his gratitude for the residents that participated in the Community Needs Assessment earlier this year which helped guide the development of the new Master Plan.
